The Glitterati Prive Fashion Show at Members Only

I don’t go clubbing unless I’m invited, and even then I don’t always say yes. I’ve mentioned before that the whole snooty-snooty club scene isn’t really my thing, but I couldn’t say no when Glitterati personally invited me to attend the Prive Fashion Show at Members Only. Aside from the fact that some of my college friends RSVP’d, it turns out that the local fashion bloggers I follow and admire will be present as well! I couldn’t resist the opportunity to finally meet them in person. So with Marco in tow (the same guy behind the Magkaribal live Tweets), my friends and I drove to The Fort on a rainy Wednesday evening to see Glitterati unveil their latest collection.

Nikki, Rica, me, and Liz

We arrived half past 9 pm and I feared that we might have missed the show, which was supposed to start strictly at 9. Turns out I had nothing to worry about because the show wouldn’t start until after 11.

Not long after we arrived, I started seeing a bunch of familiar faces. The first one I met Karl, the namesake of my Soule Phenomenon boots, but I was a little shy to ask for a photo together. My social skills didn’t kick in until later in the evening, when more bloggers started to arrive.

I was so excited to have finally met the lovely Denise and her husband, who drove all the way from Bataan! She’s already 6 months pregnant but you can’t really tell because of the swirly patterns on her dress.

Shortly after, I finally met Mike, the Toxic Disco Boy himself.

I didn’t realize how tall he was in person, and we were both wearing the Inkarlcerating boots at that. Loved his accessories too!

It was also great to run into Arianne and Bea of A Plus B in the Sea. I told them how much I loved the boater hat I got from Sock and Sole, Arianne’s new store, and I asked her to please please please start selling cloche hats too.

I also said hi to Kookie, Aisa, and Domz, but they were too busy scurrying about to talk. It turns out that Kookie and Domz were two of the fifteen or so Glitterati muses modeling that evening. I’m not surprised that they were chosen – they’re such fashionable girls!

Alex arrived from another event wearing a gorgeous lace dress from What Women Want. I didn’t realize how good it looked with the lace shoulders on Liz’s Ukay Manila top until I took this photo.

Unfortunately, I have no good photos of the fashion show to share with you guys. Members Only really isn’t the best venue for that sort of thing because the place was dark, crowded, and smoky. Try as you might, you can’t really make out the details of the dresses on the models, much less take decent photos. It also didn’t help that our table was on the far side of the club, away from where the models posed on the tiniest stage. In any case, you can view Glitterati’s collections at their website, shopglitterati.multiply.com.

My feet were ready to give out by the time we left, but I didn’t mind too much because last night was the most fun I’ve had all week. Even though this is definitely not my scene, it sure helped that I was with great friends who felt just as awkward about being in clubs as I do. And I have to admit that the chichi interiors of Members Only was a welcome change from the usual places I go to with my friends or my boyfriend.

It was really great to meet you and I wish that bloggers would meet up more often. We should think about blogger powows in the future!

OMG really? YAY! You guys are the best! :D I actually bought a black bowler hat from someone off eBay but it’s been a few weeks and it’s taking forever to get here. :( I will most definitely buy the cloche hat, if it looks anything like the one I saw in Accessorize. :D
