Cold Weather Clothes

My weekends are normally spent in front of the Xbox with my boyfriend but for Father’s Day, I went up to Baguio with my parents for the first time in years. It was nice to spend time with my parents for a change, even though I spent the first half of the ride hissing like an angry cat for being forced to wear a seat belt. (Never mind that I made several trips to the mountains in my childhood without being strapped in, and without flying through the windshield.) Besides the quality time spent with the parents (and the free accommodations and food), another thing I loved about our vacation was the lovely weather. Not only was the mountain air a refreshing change from Manila’s humid climate; it was also a great opportunity to wear something other than my usual dress-sandals uniform.

Crochet beanie: Cebu Beanie Designs
Rose lace tunic: thrifted (supposedly for Ukay Manila)
Jeans: Defacto
Boots: thrifted
Necklace: Parvatti Vintage

I’m glad I chose to wore the beanie and tunic to Father’s Day lunch. We dined at the veranda of Baguio Country Club and my clothes did a great job of keeping me protected from the occasional chilly breeze.

After lunch, my mom and I burned the food we just ate by hitting the nearby ukays (thrift stores). I changed into a more casual tunic-leggings combo for that because I didn’t want to have a hard time haggling, which is bound to happen if ukay owners see that you’re well-dressed. Except for the leggings, which I borrowed from my mom, everything I’m wearing is thrifted. I’m crazy about this fringe bag; I use it all the time and it’s starting to show some signs of wear.

My dad said I look like a local in this ensemble. Huzzah!

One more set of outfit photos and a recap of my Baguio ukay finds will be revealed in a bit! (And by “a bit” I mean a few days. I missed a day of work and have a lot of catching up to do!)

i absolutely love that rose lace tunic! i most probably would’ve snagged it if you released it at Ukay Manila. :D

also, do you curl your hair every morning or is it just naturally perfect like that? haha.

It’s a lovely top! I realized it was ironic that I don’t have a single lacy item in my wardrobe, so I decided to keep this one. :P

I had my hair digitally permed late last year! My real hair is straight and very boring.

  2. I love your “cold weather outfit”. It would look nice even here in the Netherlands..

Oh, how cool is this. I just stumbled on your blog after you commented on mine. After I clicked on your comment I was so surprised to find you own Ukay Manila! I love your store. I’m definitely following you and backreading your blog. This is neat!

I am jealous of your boots and the fact that you’re in Baguio. :D
