Good morning everyone! The time to join my Levi’s I Believe contest is up, and I’d like to thank the 30 or so people who participated in this little giveaway. I really didn’t expect to receive so many I Believe badges – especially from unfamiliar names – and I’m so glad you all took the time to share your beliefs. It was kind of tough choosing the three winners, but the decision-making process became much easier when I applied these criteria. I suppose I should have thought of this when I announced the contest, but I think listing down criteria might have discouraged people from joining.
1) Following directions. I specifically mentioned that your I Believe badge must be your Facebook profile photo for your entry to be valid (Levi’s rules, not mine). I asked everyone to include a link to their Facebook page so I can check if they did so; those who didn’t were immediately disqualified.
2) The interest factor. I was looking for beliefs that were witty, intelligent, or completely unexpected. But please don’t think that I don’t respect your beliefs because your badge wasn’t chosen.
3) Appropriate use of photo. Since the I Believe badge is composed of a photo plus the belief, the photo used should support or illustrate the belief statement.
Okay, now that all that serious stuff is out of the way, it’s time to announce the winners! I posted the three winning I Believe badge with links to their Facebook pages. Are you one of those winners?

I was not expecting to get any male contestants, and Raja’s I Believe badge really surprised me. But I didn’t choose his badge because of his gender; the honesty of his statement together with the riverside reenactment of Michelangelo’s The Creation of Man was a winning combination. In his comment, Raja explains that, “Love isn’t about gender. It is as the biblical passage says: love is kind, love is patient.” Truer words have never been spoken.

More guys submitted I Believe badges after Raja, and I have to admit that I really enjoyed looking at what they posted. Their badges were so fun and light-hearted – I’d give them all prizes if I could. Dodge’s entry, however, was the one that made me laugh the hardest. The next time I meet him IRL, I’ll ask for a demonstration of his flying skillz.

I tried my best not to be biased, but I have to admit that Nikki’s strong statement about the sexiness was one of the most striking beliefs I received. The sexiest people I know don’t look anything like starved runway models; they are smart, articulate, open-minded, and well-loved by their significant others. I think if women view of sexy as a personality trait rather than something their physical body is or isn’t, we’d view ourselves and our bodies in a more positive light.
Congratulations to all the winners! I’ve already sent you all a message on Facebook asking for your shipping address and contact information. For those who didn’t win, don’t worry, this certainly isn’t the last contest I’ll be having. I’m announcing the mechanics and prizes for the Bourgeois Beauty Giveaway in a couple of days. I don’t think the guys will be very interested in this though.

congrats to all winners. i agree with nikki’s badge. and the other 2 guys’ entries were real fun too :) thanks for the contest lauren!
ILY Laur! Thanks for this awesome monday gift :) I told the boy about what I said, and he thinks I’m one of the sexiest women out there. squeee
oops. bitin.
The second part was supposed to read:
I hope more women start to view themselves as sexy. Sexy is all about loving what you are, and embracing your body. Even if you look half-starved, but you hate how your body looks, or you nitpick about your imperfections, then it’s no use to have skinny asses. Love your body, whatever shape it may be. :)
These badges are amazing. Great choices, Lauren! I thoroughly enjoyed reading this post. :)

Thanks thanks!
I already posted a blog post about this. Do check it out and leave me a comment.

@Ysera thanks. Actually were just fooling around but a friend captured this photo unbeknownst to us. It was not planned or whatsoever. That made it more priceless to me. :)
